The judges licensing and standards committee is has recently licensed Tyler Anderson as an official judge and anticipates another licensee within the next few weeks. A subcommittee made up of pioneer breeders of the Modern Malaysian here in the states has began the first phase of developing the foundation standard for the Modern Malaysian. The ideal Modern will encompass the following characteristics:
- long legs
- medium to short wings
- more extreme pull
- higher chest placement
- lower tail angle
- slim body type
A few shows have hosted fun classes that include the Modern Malaysian and the consensus is that as an organization, we need to develop clear differences between the currently recognized Ayam and the proposed modern Malaysian. When breeding Serama, it is imperative that a standard is correctly followed to successfully produce consistency in your flock.
