Re-working the CBL for current times to the future

Last year's GC and CBL Committee brought to attention several issues and concerns. The Constitution and By Laws as a document, has been misunderstood and not utalized in the way that it was meant to be. The Constitution and to an extent, the By Laws are not meant to be edited and updated on a yearly basis. What had happened the last year, was day to day procedures had been written into or attempted to be written into the document. With the massive technological and procedural changes that have quickly happened over the last 4 years, having to constantly re-write and have members vote on these things is incredibly tedious and unneccessary.

The 2025 CBL committee has a goal of reworking the document to make it streamlined, easy to find things and most of all, a more concrete outline to follow. All of the specific procedures as far as software used for various tasks, how to handle grievances, job descriptions beyond the basic overviews, will all be removed and a "policy document" folder will be created.

The Constitution itself will largely remain intact with exception of any grammatical fixes.  The By Laws will be taken apart section by section, simpilified and will refer to policy documents when it coes to the detailed day to day activities. This will allow things such as date changes, technological updates, document changes, job handling, and non essential tasks to be updated without having to go through a lengthy by laws vote by members. Any essential club related business which effects our members will of course remain in place as concrete by laws and structure.

The current CBL is a lengthy document filled with legal terms and out of date references. We hope to have the streamlined product ready for review and vote by membership at the middle of this year. We want our members to be able to see how the SCNA operates in a much easier to read source file that should not need to be edited and voted on annually in the future, while keeping the procedures and processes in place.
