2026 Legbands
As this past year has shown us, growth and change sometimes come with a learning curve—and this is one of those moments!
Our longtime leg band vendor has officially retired, and we’re grateful that his daughter has stepped in to take over the entire process. She’s been wonderful to work with, and we’re excited to continue this relationship moving forward.
With our 2026 leg bands, there was a small hiccup in communication about how our orders have traditionally been placed and packaged by her father. Instead of arriving in strings of 25 bands, bundled in packs of 4 strings (100) for the full 5,000-band order. This year the bands arrived on a single metal strings of 1000 each.... in one box. That means each individual order now needs to be hand-counted, , sorted, bundled, and prepared before it can be added to the registry mailing—definitely more work, but nothing we can’t handle!
The good news is that I have a solid process in place to get these sorted as easily as possible in runs of 25, and since 2026 leg bands aren’t needed on birds until they’re at least six weeks old, we have a little flexibility. My goal is to have all current 2026 orders mailed out within the next week.
